Adirondack Park is the largest protected park in the lower 48, and offers incredible access to some of the best outdoor activities in the country. Per tradition, we will summit Mt. Marcy — the highest peak in NY while tackling another 46er: Cascade Mountain. Join us for a weekend of fellowship, challenges, and fun!

Dates: Nov 10 - 12, 2023 with departure from Jersey City, NJ. This trip is open to 12 students, and it is first come, first serve.
Friday, November 10th: Departure
2:00pm: Departure from Jersey City in rented vans or buses.
6:30 PM: Arrive at the Adirondack Loj.
7:00 PM: Dinner at the ADK Loj.
9:30 PM: Lights out Lights out for a good night's rest.
Saturday, November 11th: Mt. Marcy Hike
5:00 AM: Wake-up call.
5:30 AM: Breakfast at the Adirondack Loj (early start to catch the sunrise).
6:30 AM: Depart for the Mt. Marcy trailhead.
7:00 AM: Begin the hike up Mt. Marcy. The ascent may take around 6-7 hours, depending on weather conditions and group pace.
1:00 PM: Summit of Mt. Marcy. Enjoy lunch and take in the breathtaking views.
2:00 PM: Begin the descent back to the trailhead.
8:00 PM: Return to the Adirondack Loj.
8:30 PM: Dinner at the Adirondack Loj.
9:30 PM: Lights Out
Sunday, November 12th: Cascade Mountain Sunrise Hike and Return
7:30AM: Wake-up call.
8:00 AM: Breakfast at the Loj
5:30 AM: Arrive at the summit of Cascade Mountain in time for sunrise. Enjoy a memorable sunrise over the Adirondacks.
7:00 AM: Begin the descent from Cascade Mountain.
7:30 - 12:15: Hike Cascasde Mountain
12:30 PM: Depart for Jersey City.
4:30 PM: Stop for a late lunch/early dinner on the way back.
8:30 PM: Return to Jersey City.
Please note that the hiking schedule is subject to change based on weather conditions and the group's pace. Safety will be a top priority throughout the trip, and the group should be prepared for variable weather in the Adirondacks in November. Ensure everyone is equipped with appropriate clothing, footwear, and gear for hiking.

Lodging at the ADK Loj: Comfortable accommodations at the Adirondack Loj for two nights (Friday and Saturday).
Meals:
Breakfast on Saturday and Sunday: Enjoy hearty breakfasts at the Adirondack Loj to fuel your hiking adventures.
Dinner on Saturday night: A delicious dinner will be provided on Saturday evening at the Adirondack Loj.
Trail lunches on Saturday and Sunday: Nutritious packed lunches to keep you energized during your hikes.
Transportation: Round-trip transportation from Jersey City to the Adirondacks is included. We will travel in comfortable vehicles equipped for the journey.
Expert Hiking Guides: You'll be accompanied by experienced hiking guides, including Mr. Morrissey. Mr. Morrissey has led over 10+ successful trips for students in the Adirondacks and is dedicated to ensuring a safe and enjoyable hiking experience for all participants.
Payment Details:
A check for $795 made out to: Mountain Goat Movement. Checks may be sent to 76 Rector Street in Millburn, NJ 07041. Checks are due by October 15.
Cancellation Policy: This trip is based on group pricing. Refunds are not offered. If a student can no longer attend the trip, he/she may find another student to replace his/her spot.
Participants are responsible for bringing their hiking gear, including appropriate clothing, footwear, and personal items. A detailed packing list will be provided.
All participants must sign a liability waiver and provide emergency contact information before the trip — this will be sent closer to the departure date.
